You will need a high standard of literacy, numeracy and personal presentation. At interview candidates will need to discuss school visits and/or school based work experience.
In order to be eligible to apply to train as a teacher through School Direct you must have:
- A UK undergraduate degree
- A standard equivalent to a grade C in GCSE English and Maths
If you studied outside of the UK, you should visit the National Academic Regognition Centre (NARIC) website to find out whether your qualifications are of an equivalent level to UK GCSEs, A levels and an undergraduate degree.
All candidates for teaching training also need to pass literacy and numeracy professional skills tests before starting teacher training.
